This is dedicated to all who work toward ‘making that change’ and a tribute to those who have died trying.
To the water cooler gatherers who engage in conversations about the leadership of our world, our country, our communities; to the private conversations among trusted friends and family, about the hurt and pain of exclusion and the dream of mental model shifts toward true diversity and inclusion.
My journey has brought me here …my story like yours continue to unfold. I believe that in order to change our world for the better we must become engaged; individually and collectively …and in order for collective engagement to be effective, it must be inclusive, embracing our common humanity, while respecting our differences.
Imagine the leaders an engaged, informed and inclusive populous would elect and select. Imagine how we could shape the stories the media choose to air. Imagine the type of hopeful (to borrow from President Obama’s campaign) organization, community, country and world we could build for future generations to inherit. Imagine the fulfillment of what was once a whisper at the water cooler.
Let us chart this journey that as Robin Sharma says, “…does not end with us”. Let us deepen inclusive engagement – let us lead!
